Everything your Earlsdon property needs
The roofing work we take on across Earlsdon (CV5), from a single slipped tile to a complete re-roof.
New Roof Installations
Complete new roofs on extensions, garages, outbuildings and new build, designed and built to current fixing and ventilation standards.
Roof Replacements
Complete re-roofing, including the parts nobody sees — the underlay, battens, ventilation and fixings that decide how long the new roof lasts.
Roof Repairs & Leak Detection
Tracing leaks to their actual source and fixing them properly, rather than sealing the nearest thing to the damp patch.
Slate & Tile Roofing
Natural slate, clay and concrete tile work — repairs, matching, and full coverings laid to suit the pitch.
Chimney Repairs & Leadwork
Stack repairs and proper dressed leadwork. Most chimney leaks are the stack itself rather than the roof around it.
Fascias, Soffits & Guttering
Roofline and rainwater goods, renewed together with roof work so the scaffold is paid for once rather than twice.

What we check on a property in Earlsdon
Every quote starts with a survey. These are the things we look at on roofing work in Earlsdon, and why each one changes the recommendation.
Gutters, falls and downpipes
We check that gutters run to the outlet, that joints are not weeping and that downpipes discharge properly. Overflowing gutters soak fascias and walls, and the damage usually shows up indoors before anyone looks up.
Valleys
Valleys carry more water than any other part of the roof. We check for debris, splits in the lead, failed mortar on the tile edges and anything restricting the flow, because a blocked valley backs water up under the tiles.
Moss and organic growth
We note how much there is and where. Heavy moss means water is being held against the tiles and gutters are probably taking the debris, and it also tends to mark the shaded, slowest-drying part of the roof.
Insulation depth and position
While we are in the loft we note the insulation. It affects condensation risk and ventilation requirements, and if the roof is coming off it is the obvious moment to put it right.
Flashings at every abutment
Chimneys, party walls, dormer cheeks and soil pipes each need a sound flashing. We look for split lead, flashing pulled out of its joint, and the mastic repairs that usually mean the real fix was skipped.
Lead quality and code
Lead that is too thin for its span splits from thermal movement, and over-long pieces do the same. We check the code and the lengths used, because an undersized flashing fails again whatever else is done.

The closest are Spon End (about 0.3 miles away), Cheylesmore (about 1.3 miles away), Coundon (about 1.3 miles away) and Bishopsgate Green (about 1.3 miles away). All of them are inside our normal working area, so a property on the boundary is no different to one in the middle of Earlsdon. If you are unsure which area you count as, the postcode settles it.
How quickly can you get to Earlsdon?
Quickly — it is about 0.9 miles west of the city centre. Short distances are the main reason we can offer same-week surveys and come back promptly if something needs a second look.
Why is my loft damp when the roof is not leaking?
Usually condensation rather than a leak. Warm moist air from the house rises into a cold loft, meets cold surfaces and condenses, often worst on the underside of the underlay. The fix is ventilation and sealing the gaps letting air up there, not more roofing. Telling the two apart matters: condensation is widespread and seasonal, a leak is localised and follows rain.
Is moss on the roof a problem?
It is not harmless. Moss holds water against the tiles, which matters in frost, and it breaks off and blocks gutters and valleys. It should be removed carefully — scraped and brushed, not blasted. A pressure washer strips the surface off concrete tiles, drives water under the laps and takes years off the roof. We have replaced tiles that were fine until they were jet-washed.
Should the gutters be done at the same time as the roof?
Almost always, yes. The scaffold is already up, which is a large part of the cost of roofline work, and fascias and gutters are far easier to replace with the bottom course of tiles off. Fitting new guttering to a rotten fascia, or leaving failing roofline under a brand new roof, is false economy on both sides.
EPDM, GRP or felt — which flat roof is best?
EPDM is a single rubber membrane with very few joints, flexible in cold weather and typically good for 25 to 30 years or more. GRP is a fibreglass laminate cured in place, giving a hard seamless finish with neat detailing, on a similar lifespan, though it is less forgiving of movement. Felt is the cheapest and the shortest-lived. The deck condition and how much movement it sees usually decide it.
Do I need planning permission for roof work?
Repairs and like-for-like re-roofing need no permission. It changes if you alter the shape or height, add a dormer, or materially change the appearance — and listed buildings, conservation areas and Article 4 areas have their own rules that can cover even a change of tile. Worth checking before the order goes in rather than after.
